There are over 3,000 rivers in the state. The Yukon River ranks third in length of U.S. rivers, behind the Mississippi and Missouri rivers. The Yukon is 1,400 miles in Alaska, 1,875 total. The Porpuline River is 555 miles long, about two-thirds of this length is in Canada. The Koyukuk river is 554 miles long.
